PRESTO Devices and How to Use Them

Fare Payment Device

Located on all surface vehicle (streetcars and buses) entrances and on a PRESTO-enabled subway station turnstile in select subway station entrances.

As you enter, tap your card against the device to pay for your ride. Your PRESTO card acts as your Proof-of-Payment (POP) after tapping to board.

If you are transferring to another vehicle or route that complies with the TTC’s transfer guidelines, you can simply tap your card on the connecting fare payment device to complete your transfer, and you will not be charged a new fare.
